'Let us build a house where love can dwell'

Welcome to Leswalt Parish Church, Wigtownshire

Leswalt Parish Church is Church of Scotland by denomination and situated in the village and Parish of Leswalt in Wigtownshire, south-west Scotland. The Church has a friendly and welcoming congregation, with members attending from  the village of Leswalt, the nearby town of Stranraer and beyond.

Leswalt Parish Church is linked with the nearby Ervie-Kirkcolm Parish Church.

From 2015 both churches have been under the Guardianship of the local Presbytery.  We currently do not have a Locum Minister with our previous Locum,  Rev. Clare Burl, retiring from her position in August 2023.  This means that we are under the guidance of our Interim Moderator Mrs. Gillian Lynn.

This means that we currently have a flexible approach to Sunday services with an increased frequency of joint services with Ervie-Kirkcolm.  Services are being led by a combination of our own Worship Teams, Mrs Gillian Lynn, Mr. Graham Comery and we are fortunate to have pulpit supply from Rev. Alex Cairns and Dr. James Anderson.

PLEASE CHECK OUR FACEBOOK PAGE AND OUR FORTHCOMING SERVICES PAGE FOR A LIST OF TIMES AND DATES OF FORTHCOMING CHURCH SERVICES.

Our Mission Statement

  • To fulfil the words of the hymn “Let us build a house where love can dwell”
  • To be a church where all are welcome to share Christian friendship, know the love of Jesus and grow in faith through worship and prayer.

We aim to achieve this through regular worship, providing a strong Christian voice within our parishes, reaching out to share this with all sections of the community and using our time, talents and resources effectively.
