'Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day'

1 Chronicles 16:23

We normally have a church service every Sunday at 11.15am (please note that this is subject to change while we have no Locum minister).  At this service we Praise our Lord with singing, we thank our Lord and ask for his help and guidance through prayers and we listen to Gods word through scripture readings from the New King James version of the bible.

We also have a sermon or reflection, and dedicate our weekly offerings to the Lord.  For the children, we have “Rainbow Makers”, well supported by a team of congregation members. The children attend the first part of the service in church before moving to the vestry to engage in carefully planned activities. This Sunday service usually last approximtely 1 hour and we welcome both old and young, visitors and regulars alike and can accomodate mobility scooters and wheelchairs.

An All Age Praise service is conducted on the last Sunday of each month with an aim of encouraging younger people to attend.  This is a very inclusive service with participation from members of the congregation including children.  The children remain in the church for entire service, which contains only a short reflection and an increased number of Hymns where members are given the chance to add to their Praise with precussion instruments handed out to all who wish.

We have a Peace Candle which is lit during the services and we hold special services at Harvest, Easter and for Armistice.

For Christmas, we hold a service of Nine Lessons and Carols and an early evening Christingle service which is very popular with both church regulars and locals from the wider Stranraer area.

Music is a special feature of all services at Leswalt Parish Church using CH4 and Junior Praise. We have an organist and a joint church choir led by an excellent choir leader. The choir sing together at special services throughout the year and are a good ambassador for the church, singing carols for fundraising purposes at Christmas time in the local Tesco supermarket for example.
